    • Let's Move Salad Bars to Schools is a comprehensive grassroots public health effort to mobilize and engage stakeholders at the local, state and national level to support salad bars in schools.
  • Chef Ann Foundation Fruit and Veggie Grant
    • $2,500 grant
    • Funds used to support food costs to incorporate schoolwide fruit and vegetable tastings into the school's nutrition program
    • No deadline
    • Grants awarded on an ongoing basis
  • NEA Learning and Leadership Grants
    • $2,000 for individuals and $5,000 for groups
    • Deadlines: February 1, June 1, and October 15
    • Grants support public school teachers, public education support professionals, and/or faculty and staff in public institutions of higher education for one of the following two purposes:
      • Grants to individuals fund participation in high-quality professional development experiences, such as summer institutes, conferences, or action research
      • Grants to groups fund collegial study, including study groups, action research, lesson plan development, or mentoring experiences for faculty or staff
  • James M. Cox Foundation Grants
    • Deadlines: February 15th, June 15th, and October 15th
    • Concentrates on projects related to conservation and environment, early childhood education (birth to five years), empowering families and individuals for success, and health
    • Must be a 501 (c)(3), located in an area where cox Enterprises or subsidiaries operates (this is Conway and Springdale), organizations outside of Atlanta, GA must submit a letter of endorsement from a local Cox business leader
    • Two types of support are considered: requests for capital campaigns; and requests for special projects (Awards for basic operating expenses and support for annual programs usually are not granted)
  • USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Program
    • Community Facilities Programs offer direct loans, loan guarantees and grants to develop essential public services and facilities in communities across rural America
    • Funds can be used to construct, expand or improve facilities that provide health care, education, public safety, and public services
    • Financing may also cover the costs for land acquisition, professional fees, and purchase of equipment
    • One grant was used to build cold storage for crops being harvested on a school grounds
  • Ben & Jerry's Foundation Grassroots Organizing for Social Change Program
    • One-year grants for up to $25,000 to organizations with budgets under $500,000
    • Organizations must have 501(c)3 status or have a fiscal agent with this status
    • Will only consider proposals from grassroots, constituent-led organizations that are using community-organizing and base-building strategies to accomplish their goals
  • Clif Bar Family Foundation Small Grants
    • Awarded for general organizational support, as well as funding for specific projects
    • Grants average approximately $7000 each
    • Grants awarded during a particular cycle will be announced at the beginning of the following cycle
    • Applications are reviewed three times per year
      • Deadlines: February 1, June 1, October 1
